The short version
Your stories are yours. Weaver stores all your data — characters, locations, events, relationships, and everything else — locally on your device. We don't have accounts, we don't have a server, and we never see your content.
What data we collect
Your story data: none
All story content (characters, locations, events, timelines, relationships, notes) is stored exclusively on your device using local storage. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to any server. We have no ability to access, read, or recover your story data.
Email signups (optional — website only)
If you sign up for launch notifications on this website, we collect:
- Email address — to send you a launch notification
- IP address — to prevent abuse and rate-limit signup requests
- Timestamp — to record when you signed up
This data is stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure (D1 database). Your email is used solely to notify you when Weaver launches. We do not sell, share, or use your information for marketing beyond this single notification.
Website analytics
This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which collects anonymous, aggregated usage data (page views, referrers, browser type). It does not use cookies, does not track individual users, and does not collect personal information.
Platform-level data
Weaver runs on iOS, Android, and web browsers. These platforms may independently collect diagnostic data (crash logs, device identifiers) as described in their own privacy policies. We do not have access to or control over platform-level data collection.
How we use your data
- Email addresses — to send launch notifications
- IP addresses — to prevent spam and automated signups
- Website analytics — to understand aggregate traffic (anonymous)
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information for marketing or advertising purposes. We do not use cookies or track you across websites.
Third-party services
Cloudflare — hosts this website, stores email signups (D1 database), and provides anonymous web analytics. Cloudflare may process data in the United States and other countries. Cloudflare participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Privacy policy.
Data retention
- Email addresses — retained until you request deletion or for up to 2 years of inactivity
- IP addresses — retained for 90 days
- Website analytics — aggregate data retained indefinitely (anonymous, not linkable to individuals)
- App data — stored on your device until you delete the app or clear its storage
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing us.
If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you also have the right to data portability, to restrict processing, to object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We process your email address based on your consent (which you can withdraw at any time) and your IP address based on our legitimate interest in preventing abuse.
If you are in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share your personal information.
Data deletion
App data: Your story data lives on your device. Delete the app or clear its storage to remove it. Weaver includes a built-in backup export feature so you can save your work first.
Email address: Email us at support@foundtheplot.app and we'll delete your information within 7 business days.
Cookies
We do not use cookies on this website or in the app. Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless.
Children's privacy
Weaver does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or 16 in the EEA). The app stores all data locally and does not require an account. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes affecting how we use your data, we'll notify subscribers via email.
